In the David Gibbons Foundation 25 applications were received for £30,900 that was available for distribution. Of course not all requests can be met, and unfortunately 3 applicants were not successful. Of the 22 grants made, £3759 was awarded to 6 individuals and £27,141 to 16 organisations. The largest grant was for £4,000 to a well known local cancer charity, and the smallest was for £250 to an individual for help to buy a mobility scooter. East Devon is always prioritised and this received £8,632 at the meeting.
The Gibbons Family Trust awarded £23,600 to 17 successful applicants (1 was rejected). The smallest grant was for £160 to a child for play therapy sessions, whilst a Devon charity that runs outward bound courses for disadvantaged local young people received the highest grant. £6,460 was awarded to Thanet and £3,418 remained in East Devon.
The next meeting will be at the end of April 2020 and applications will be received up until the 31st March for that meeting.
